The ATEO provide a range of qualifications, whether you are in the pest control industry or instructing at a local club or just want to show your own experience. You can build a qualification to your needs, you can start with the basics units and then build this into the full qualification. Country Fairs |

The ATEO Team of coaches and Instructors attend many Game and Country Fairs across the country where they help to promote, train and educate all ages and abilities in the safe and proper use of airguns.

All ATEO Coach and Instructors  have to complete full training they are further instructed in the training and coaching of under 12’s which we specialise in coaching.

ATEO Coaches and Instructors are regularly assessed on their coaching skills and are encouraged to continue to update their knowledge and understanding with three yearly assessments.

The ATEO has also put together an Airgun proficiency course that can be completed at any of the Game Fairs that it attends around the country. This will help show the responsible side of air gunning and show that you are safe and have knowledge of the legislation.

ATEO Airgun Courses |

The qualifications have been written so that anyone that is interested in controlling a range, training at club level or pushing the boundaries as an ATEO Coach can meet the standard set in the area and then move forward within the qualification.

There are also qualifications for anyone working within the pest control Industry or wishing to become a professional pest control operative.

As an organisation we recognise that some people have completed training and qualifications in the field of shooting that can be brought forward as prior knowledge and performance meeting some of the performance knowledge within the qualification.

To meet the levels of the qualification ‘Mandatory‘ and ‘Optional‘ units have to be completed as follows:

The Qualification has been written so that anyone that is interested in showing that they have attained a set standard to maintain the safety of themselves and others when using an airgun and is able to follow the legislation that is current in the use of airguns.

This can help gain shooting venues or be used at clubs to show that members and visitors have met a level of safety and use. That is the ATEO minimum for the use of ownership of any form of airgun.

Performance evidence requirements: This will be based on both observation and questions that can establish that you have knowledge to follow the correct procedure and use of an airgun in the activity that you have stated.

Knowledge evidence requirements |

With both verbal and written questions that will provide evidence that you have the knowledge and understanding of the use, legislation, regulations and procedures of the airgun that you use, as well as how to use this and associated equipment safely.

  10. Demonstrate the affect of different projectiles
  11. Demonstrate your safe shooting style and holds
